Mars EMS is a non-profit volunteer emergency medical service that has been proudly serving the residents and visitors of Mars Boro, PA for the past 12 years.We have 2 fully equipped Advanced Life Support ambulances and 16 EMTs and Paramedics that run 24-7. Mars EMS relys soley on donations,subscriptions and medical insurance payments to keep it alive. We are in desperate need of additional funds to update our equipment in order to meet the new requirements of The Department of Health in Pennsylvania and to keep our doors open. It is our sincere desire to provide Mars Boro with the best emergency care possible.
The equipment we are primarily interested in obtaining is (2) Lifepak 12 monitors with waveform capnography, (2) Ventipak portable ventilators, and (1)updated computer for patient reports and billing. We also dream of starting a community education center.
A community education center would make it possible for our service to play an active role in disease awareness and prevention, provide drug and alcohol education for adolescents, teens and adults, provide a learning center for future EMTs and Paramedics as well as hold routine CPR and first aid classes and blood pressure clinics for the public.
